Windows activation error 0xC004F034 means the Software Licensing service found invalid licence data, or could not reach the KMS host it expected. The fix depends entirely on which type of key you have: a retail key needs its licence data rebuilt, while a volume key needs a reachable KMS server.
First: which kind of key are you using?
This code appears in two very different situations, and the wrong fix wastes time. Establish your licence channel before doing anything else.

If you bought a single key for a home or small-business PC, you are almost certainly on RETAIL or OEM.
Retail and OEM: rebuild the licence data
Invalid licence data usually means the store is damaged. Rebuilding it is the fix.
- Open Command Prompt as administrator
- Stop the licensing service: net stop sppsvc
- Go to cd %windir%\ServiceProfiles\LocalService\AppData\Local\Microsoft\WSLicense
- Rename the token file: ren tokens.dat tokens.bak
- Restart the service: net start sppsvc
- Reinstall the licence files: slmgr /rilc
- Restart, then reinstall your key: slmgr /ipk YOUR-KEY-HERE
- Activate: slmgr /ato
Rename rather than delete, so the change can be undone. Windows creates a fresh tokens.dat on the next start.
Retail: check the edition matches
0xC004F034 is sometimes reported when a key is valid but intended for a different edition or Windows version.
- Press Windows + R, type winver and press Enter
- Note the edition, for example Windows 11 Pro
- Confirm your key was sold for that exact edition

Volume and KMS: point the client at a reachable host
A KMS client key does not activate against Microsoft. It looks for a KMS server on your network, and this error appears when it cannot find one. This is a business-network scenario.
- Check the configured host: slmgr /dlv and look at the KMS machine name
- Set the correct host if it is wrong: slmgr /skms yourkmsserver.domain.com:1688
- Attempt activation: slmgr /ato
- Confirm port 1688 is open between the client and the KMS host
If your organisation does not run a KMS server, a KMS client key cannot activate at all. You need a retail or MAK key instead. This is the point at which a lot of people discover the key they were given was never appropriate for a standalone machine.
If you are not sure what you bought
Keys sold as suspiciously cheap volume licences frequently turn out to be KMS client keys, which only work inside an organisation running its own activation server. They will not activate a home PC reliably, whatever the listing claimed.
