Because support has ended, Project 2019 receives no new security fixes. It still installs and activates normally. If you are starting fresh on an internet-connected business PC, Project 2024 Standard LTSC is supported until 9 October 2029.

How to download, install and activate Project 2019 Standard
Direct download: Project Standard 2019 disc image from Microsoft (English, .img). Mount the .img file in Windows (right-click, Mount) and run Setup.exe.
Download the installer from the official link in your order email, install it, then enter the key. For general help, use our software installation and activation guides.
- Download the Project 2019 Standard image file from the emailed link.
- Double-click the .img file; Windows shows it as a new drive under This PC.
- Open the drive and run setup.exe.
- When installation ends, open Project 2019 and enter your product key.
- Complete online activation and confirm it under File > Account.
One common error is worth knowing. Setup will stop if your PC already has Office in a different bit version, for example 32-bit Office with 64-bit Project. Match the bit version to avoid it.
Is Standard enough, or do you need Professional?
Standard is enough if one person builds and updates the plan. You need Project 2019 Professional if you balance several people's workloads or connect to Project Server.

Is Project 2019 Standard still safe to use in 2026?
It works, but it no longer receives security updates after 14 October 2025. Risk is low on an offline PC or for occasional plans. On a business PC that opens files from email or the web, a supported version is wiser. Project 2024 Standard is the closest supported replacement.
Can I reinstall Project 2019 Standard on a new computer?
This key supports one installation on one PC. You can reinstall on the same computer, for example after resetting Windows. Moving to a different device may require a new purchase. If you plan to replace your PC soon, a newer version may be the better investment.
Does Project 2019 Standard run on macOS?
No. Project 2019 Standard is Windows software, and Microsoft does not offer Project desktop for Mac computers. You need Windows 10 or Windows 11. Some users run Windows on a Mac through a virtual machine, which needs its own Windows licence and enough RAM.
Is Project 2019 Standard part of Office 2019?
No. Microsoft sells Project separately from every Office suite, including Office 2019 Professional Plus. You can install both on the same PC. Install Office first, then Project, and use the same bit version for each so setup completes without errors.
