What's included in Office LTSC Standard 2021
Office LTSC Standard 2021 contains six desktop apps. Compared with Professional Plus, the only missing app is Access.

Publisher is a reason some buyers still choose the 2021 edition. It is not included in any Office 2024 edition, and Microsoft ended support for Publisher in October 2026, although it keeps working in perpetual editions such as this one.

How to download, install and activate
Office LTSC Standard 2021 follows the same install steps as the Professional Plus edition. Use our Office 2021 download and activation guide and select the Standard edition where it applies.
- Uninstall any other Office version, including trial copies that came with the PC.
- Download the Office LTSC Standard 2021 installer as described in the guide.
- Run setup and wait for the installation to finish.
- Open Word, go to File, then Account, and enter your product key.
- Keep the PC online until Office confirms the licence.
Each key matches one edition. A Standard key does not activate Professional Plus, so the installed edition must be Standard. If you see an error, email support@licencehouse.com with a screenshot.

Choose Standard if nobody in your office builds Access databases. Choose Professional Plus if you open or maintain .accdb database files.

Does Office 2021 Standard include Publisher?
Yes. Office LTSC Standard 2021 includes Publisher alongside Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and OneNote. Access is the app it leaves out. Note that Microsoft ended support for Publisher in October 2026, so it is wise to keep important layouts in a format such as PDF as well.
What has changed for Office Standard 2021 since 13 October 2026?
The apps continue to open and save files, and your activation remains valid. Microsoft stopped releasing security updates on that date. For a PC used for email and internet downloads every day, we suggest moving to Office 2024 Standard, which is supported until October 2029.
Is Office LTSC Standard 2021 suitable for business use?
Yes. LTSC editions are made for organisations, and Standard covers everyday office work such as documents, spreadsheets, email and presentations. Its feature set does not change after installation. That makes training and support simpler for small and medium businesses, schools and public offices.
Do I need a Microsoft account to use Office LTSC Standard 2021?
No. The licence is activated with the product key, not tied to a Microsoft account sign-in. You need an internet connection only for activation and for installing the security updates Microsoft released before support ended.
